About

Pettysave is looking for a Director of Investments who will be responsible for sourcing, developing, negotiating, closing and exiting investment opportunities. The Director of Investments is responsible for relationship management and monitoring of certain investees and investments alongside the Finance team, as well as making appropriate improvements to investment reporting with the Product team.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership, source and execute investment opportunities
  • Lead due diligence, direct transaction team and coordinate transaction execution and closing
  • Drive business development initiatives with the objective to build a strong pipeline of potential investment opportunities
  • Evaluate and refine the investment process to ensure we make regular improvements and deliver on all key operational milestones
  • Work closely with the Finance and Compliance teams to perform Risk Analysis on investments
  • Collaborate with the Product team to keep users updated on events of investees
  • Develop sector strategies to inform investment theses
  • Serve as a public face to structure investments and lead negotiations with potential investees
  • Serve as key contact person for investees by coordinating post-investment support and representing us on advisory boards
  • Work closely with portfolio companies to secure follow-on capital, and eventually, ensure we successfully exit of our investments

Preferred Experience

  • A degree in Economics, Finance, Business or Accounting
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in investment management, asset management or debt financing
  • Ability to apply sound business judgment and an analytical, pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving
  • Highly organised and structured, logical and lateral thinker.
  • Team player, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and add value.
  • Excellence orientation (concern for high-quality work) - Follow-through; the motivation to ensure the highest standards of quality and productivity are consistently maintained
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technically proficient (Advanced) in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Nice to haves

  • CAMP, IAM Certificate or IAM Diploma
  • Experience managing a portfolio of $25M+ or ₦10B+
